This new report calls for funders, states, communities, and the federal government to make sure that expanded benefits made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act -- including food stamps, unemployment insurance, and housing subsidies -- are reaching low-income families.

A good credit rating will save the average borrower $250,000 in interest over a lifetime. But some 70 million Americans either have poor credit scores or no credit history at all. The Annie E. Casey Foundation's new documentary includes tips for building a good score and for avoiding money traps that can harm credit ratings.

The final report in Casey's Closing the Achievement Gap series highlights four organizations that are successfully using technical assistance to build school capacity and improve outcomes for children and families.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation Awards Grants to Support Children and Families in Haiti
Casey will award $150,000 in grants to four organizations working in Haiti following the devastating earthquake that occurred in that country on January 12, 2010. The funds will support the on-the-ground relief work of the four organizations whose particular focus is on direct assistance to children.
