Vice President, Chief Program Officer
As vice president, chief program officer, Steve Cohen ensures that Casey’s program work supports its long-term strategic goals. He identifies ways to coordinate Casey's efforts across units and initiatives and provides the Foundation’s president with advice and counsel. Steve began working for Casey in 1999 as staff director for New York City’s Special Child Welfare Advisory Panel, charged with recommending and monitoring reforms to the city’s child welfare system. He went on to help mediate the resolution of child welfare cases in New Jersey and Michigan. Steve earned his B.A. in history and economics at Cornell University and completed a masters in public administration from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton. For nearly two decades, he worked in social services planning and administration in New York. Steve has held positions in social services, juvenile justice, and mental health organizations, including serving as associate executive director for the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services.
