Patrick McCarthy oversees Casey’s Center for Effective Family Services and Systems, which combines Casey’s grantmaking, strategic consulting and system reform efforts in child welfare, juvenile justice, and evidence-based practice; Casey Family Services, the Foundation’s direct services arm; and Casey's work to promote innovations in human services, such as the application of new technologies to support frontline practice and management. His professional experience includes working as a family therapist and teaching child and family practice, research methods, and statistics in the graduate schools of social work at Bryn Mawr College and the University of Southern California. Patrick has also held positions in the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families, including director of the state's juvenile corrections system and director of the Delaware Family Preservation Project. Just prior to joining the Foundation, he was senior program officer at the Center for Assessment and Policy Development. He earned a doctorate in public policy from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.
