Public Charter School Dashboard 2009

The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools’ Dashboard, made possible with funding from both the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the Danels Fund, documents the growth in the public charter school sector. To date, the dashboard contains the largest set of statistical indicators documenting the growth of the charter schools.

Closing the Achievement Gap - Creating Quality Choices: CHARTERS

Through its education investing, the Casey Foundation has learned that charter schools hold great potential in helping children graduate prepared to succeed, but they also face many challenges. This publication provides an overview of the Foundation’s investments in chartering along with selected results and lessons learned. It also presents stories about two successful charter efforts and Casey’s contribution to them.

The Casey Foundation has supported a number of different efforts at district school improvement in order to learn how small investments might contribute to closing the achievement gap. This publication provides an in-depth look at the Foundation’s multi-year investment in a school district in Atlanta. It also includes stories about Casey’s contributions to district improvements in Oakland and Philadelphia.
