JDAI Virginia Adds Two Sites
Virginia Beach, which operates one of the state’s largest probation offices, and Loudoun County, home to Leesburg, became the ninth and 10th Virginia localities to join JDAI.
Separate kick-off meetings took place in each site this past summer, with representation from nearly every county-level agency and organization that touches the lives of court-involved youth. Attendees immersed themselves in JDAI policies, reviewed JDAI literature and learned about the JDAI model.
Among the 75 who participated in Loudoun County were Chief Judge Avelina Jacob, Judge Pamela Brooks, director of court services Mark Crowley and director of family services Robert Chirles.

Further south in Virginia Beach, more than 100 gathered, including Chief Judge Winship Tower, Judge Deborah Bryan, Deputy County Administrator Candy DeButts, director of court services Olymphia Perkins, director of human services Robert Morin, Police Chief A.M. Jacocks and local JDAI coordinator Diane Shelton.
The newly added sites used these meetings to establish their local governance structures and identify operational work groups.
