New Jersey: Passaic is 12th JDAI Site
Passaic County was welcomed as an official site this past June, the 12th county to join New Jersey's JDAI.
In an effort to reduce costs, Passaic County closed its 45-bed center in April and agreed to house its youth in Essex County (Newark), N.J., at a cost of $175 per day. With the closure of its detention facility, joining the JDAI network seemed the obvious next step to safely minimize its detention population and ensure that its system is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible.
