National radio show highlights New Jersey JDAI
JDAI Team Leader Lisa Macaluso

JDAI Team Leader Lisa Macaluso joined a New Jersey judge and a county prosecutor for an in-depth radio discussion on New Jersey’s implementation of detention reform and the successes that made New Jersey JDAI’s first Model State Site.

Macaluso appeared with New Jersey Presiding Judge Charles Rand and Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor David Sharpe on “Spotlight on Youth,” an Internet show hosted by the Kentucky-based Children’s Law Center.

The one-hour segment covered the overall successes of New Jersey JDAI in reducing detention populations and implementing juvenile justice system reform. The panel also discussed key strategies, including the use of data and risk-assessment instruments, and the importance of building collaborations.

“Spotlight on Youth” focuses on social and legal trends affecting the rights and well-being of youth. The New Jersey show can be heard at www.blogtalkradio.com/spotlightonyouth/2011/03/11/jdai-on-the-ground-one-states-experience.
