Families Count

The Casey Foundation's FAMILIES COUNT program honors organizations that improve the odds for the most vulnerable children by giving them what they need most — strong, capable and economically successful families. The honorees embrace a simple but powerful principle: Children do well when their families do well, and families do better when they live in supportive communities.

The FAMILIES COUNT program has three components:

• FAMILIES COUNT - Maryland honored seven organizations in 2005, on the occasion of the Foundation's 10th year in Baltimore, for their work strengthening families and communities in the Casey Foundation's home state.
• FAMILIES COUNT: The National Honors Program has recognized 39 exemplary organizations nationwide, starting with the 2000 honorees.
• FAMILIES COUNT: Family Strengthening Awards recognize their local affiliates of national organizations that partner with the Foundation one work that strengthens vulnerable families.
