Indige­nous moth­ers and babies thrive when com­mu­ni­ties bring evi­dence-based care into homes. On Oct. 7, 2025 (12 p.m. ET), the Annie E. Casey Foun­da­tion will host a webi­nar, Sup­port­ing the Well-Being of Indige­nous Moth­ers and Babies with an Evi­dence-Based Program.”

This ses­sion will high­light Fam­i­ly Spir­it, a proven home-vis­it­ing pro­gram for moth­ers with babies and tod­dlers up to age 3. Devel­oped by the Cen­ter for Indige­nous Health at Johns Hop­kins Uni­ver­si­ty and fund­ed by Casey, Fam­i­ly Spir­it now serves moth­ers in 170 trib­al com­mu­ni­ties across 28 states. The pro­gram pro­vides cul­tur­al­ly ground­ed, evi­dence-based sup­port and builds part­ner­ships with trib­al health, child wel­fare and pub­lic health sys­tems to strength­en mater­nal and child well-being. 

The webi­nar is part of the Foundation’s Lead­ing with Evi­dence series, pro­mot­ing effec­tive evi­dence-based approach­es in a vari­ety of settings.
