As a program associate within the Baltimore Civic Site, Aliza Sollins leads the place-based initiative to improve well-being through housing and neighborhood stability. This work builds the capacity of community groups and young adult leadership, supports advocacy and research, develops collaborative partnerships and invests in demonstrations of effective practice.
Before joining the Foundation, Sollins worked in roles related to agriculture and administrative operations where she supported grassroots organizations, cooperative networks and Baltimore-based institutions. In 2022, Aliza served as a legislative fellow in the Office of Senate President Bill Ferguson, liaising with the Budget and Taxation Committee of the Maryland General Assembly. In 2024, she was elected to serve a three-year term as a board member of the Baltimore City Continuum of Care, a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development program that coordinates available resources and stakeholders’ efforts toward the goal of making homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring in Baltimore City.
Aliza Sollins holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and is a member of the 2024 class of The Leadership. Outside of work, Aliza has served on her neighborhood association board for five years and spends time as a mentor, community gardener and volunteer.
