Associate Director, Strategic Communications
John Hodgins leads the Foundation's websites, email program and social media presence. He also works to increase the capacity of grantees and partner networks to use social media and online communications. He joined the Casey Foundation in 2004, supporting the organization’s child welfare portfolios — including Casey Family Services and the Child Welfare Strategy Group — until taking on the digital role in 2011.
Before joining Casey, Hodgins led communications efforts at two large human services organizations in Maine: The Opportunity Alliance and Sweetser.
Currently pursuing his master’s degree in communications management at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Information at Syracuse University, Hodgins is studying communications best practices and philanthropy’s adoption of social media. He also holds professional certificates in digital marketing and project management from New York University.
