The Foundation’s endowment nearly doubled to $3 billion after UPS’s initial public stock offering in November 1999.
This issue of Casey Connects concentrates on the value of community with the rollout of a new neighborhood initiative and the announcement of seven community-based organizations as Families Count honorees. Smaller stories discuss Casey’s new-found wealth and present recently released Casey publications.
Casey has a new motto: Children do well when their families do well, and families do better when they live in supportive communities. The statement builds on our experience and the work of others who have toiled to improve the futures of disadvantaged children. The lesson? It is simply not possible to make a difference for kids living in concentrated poverty without investing in and involving their families and neighborhoods.
