Young people transitioning from foster care face multiple challenges, including developing financial capability.
The Foundation now offers a comprehensive financial education curriculum aimed at helping these youth grow their financial aptitude and make better financial decisions.
This curriculum was originally created for the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative’s Opportunity Passport program.
The curriculum consists of seven different modules (listed below), and each of these modules has six resources.
This curriculum also has four appendices:
A post-training assessment evaluates what participants learned over the course of the curriculum.
And a special tools document contains information on credit scores and an exercise on credit card, debit card and ATM use.
